OWphotos Entrance:

Hello and welcome:

Hello and welcome to Oh Well Photos. (Or 'OW' for short). This is a new blog that holds my view of the drifting community and motorsport that I follow. This blog is made for the people that are major participants of the drifting lunacy already. It is also made for those that are interested and attracted by the smoke, speed, angle and indulgent colours of the drifting motorsport.

My name is John (also known as Random) and I am a keen enthusiast of automotive photography. I have an amateur knowledge of Digital Photography but a strong passion for the insane motorsport that is drifting. I have taken many pictures good and bad, albeit some dreadful ones too. I have received a lot of feedback from the crowds who help me as I am still improving my skills after each event.

I have placed my feet firmly on the tarmac for 2 years now. I feel that I am more than capable to represent myself and be a worthwhile part of the Drift community and culture. So I am to conclude this post with a very warm welcome, and I also thank you very much for reading and browsing through the OW blog. Here is to many more posts. Cheers.

CPD KD Drift @ Lousada Pt 1

Day 1.
Good morning readers and welcome to my trip to portugal to be part of the kd drift championship. Where the best of europe come together for a massive 2 day attack on the classic lousada race circuit. Situated right in the centre of the town.
This is my second visit here and after a 2011 upgrade on equipment and some better knowledge on technique I'm more confident and prepared this time with the Nikon D40.
So after a 9 hour travel from manchester to liverpool and then off to portugal. the biggest risk I took was to hop into a local porto taxi and sit back as the 50+ year old guy drove like a hero doing 100mph. (Note to self get another 90's merc haha).
On arrival to the hotel (which bear in mind was a challenge as the taxi driver had no english and I knew sod all portugese). I was recognised by the reception girl which was nice. Who informed me that she'd also seen other people from last year who had just left the hotel 5mins ago. After settling in and watching what can only be described as a fat camp reality show I ventured down to the local in a blind hope of seeing the other guys and I was happy to hear the cockney chav slang from local burberrun ken 'jungle power' wingate, as he sparks up another fag and drinks what I was told was his 6th red bull + vodka. So a few drinks later and a 2am passout, that finishes day 1.
Oh and to see the cars parked outside the hotel is one hell of a sight. Especially with the southern european background. WOW!
