OWphotos Entrance:

Hello and welcome:

Hello and welcome to Oh Well Photos. (Or 'OW' for short). This is a new blog that holds my view of the drifting community and motorsport that I follow. This blog is made for the people that are major participants of the drifting lunacy already. It is also made for those that are interested and attracted by the smoke, speed, angle and indulgent colours of the drifting motorsport.

My name is John (also known as Random) and I am a keen enthusiast of automotive photography. I have an amateur knowledge of Digital Photography but a strong passion for the insane motorsport that is drifting. I have taken many pictures good and bad, albeit some dreadful ones too. I have received a lot of feedback from the crowds who help me as I am still improving my skills after each event.

I have placed my feet firmly on the tarmac for 2 years now. I feel that I am more than capable to represent myself and be a worthwhile part of the Drift community and culture. So I am to conclude this post with a very warm welcome, and I also thank you very much for reading and browsing through the OW blog. Here is to many more posts. Cheers.

Alex Laws B'day Bash @ Buxton

Hey guys and girls my first blog post and its the coverage of a good friend of mine, Alex Law's (what an awesome name), 26th birthday bash, which was held at Buxton raceway on the 10th of September. Here he is smoking it up mid transition into the infield.

Well as the mighty Micra had a broken gearbox mount AGAIN, i got a lift upto the Derby hills by Mr and Mrs AE86 themselves Sam & Gabbie. Which bear in mind is an epic feat considering Gabbie kindly wedged herself in between the rollcage, the back seat, the spare tyres, trolley jack and other drift day parts that Sam brought with him lol. Here's sam prepping for his umpteenth session at Buxton.

So the day was quite windy and luckily enough for Mrs Law (bear in mind most of these women are not actually married yet lol), who had organised the event for her fella. knows quite alot of local drifters that actually go to Buxton on a monthly basis. As shown here is Alistair Graham, Piers Bailey, Ryan Langford and Sam Self, who are all on the lower power-band side of the drifters but they still managed to have bucket loads of fun all day long.

On the top end scale of the big boys were the birthday boy, Ant Cookson, Ed Coley, Max Malone, Jake Roberts, who were all smoking it up and getting maximum angles all over the kidney shaped course.

So a special mention has to go out to the boys who went for the most highlighted part of Buxton, 'THE WALL'. As the solid metal plates surround the whole of the banger racing oval track, normally you can see the usual parts that get the odd kiss here and there. Ryan Langford tapping it a few times in his sierra.

Well on this special occasion one of the local loons popped upto Buxton with a shared BMW named 'Abdul'. Both Ant Cookson and Sir George BIN-A-BIMMA Hough had purchased a special bmw that was going to be like a 'here's something to remember this day' present for Mr Law.
Here is George arriving into Buxton.

Abdul was trailored up to Buxton as the plan was to completely destroy the whole car whilst also having enormous amounts of fun and laughter. The boys took it in turns to drive Abdul and Ant went out first to get a grip of things especially since Abdul was cambered to the MAX on some epic wheels and he also had what seemed like scaffold bars as suspension lol.
After a few runs and general spin-oos, Ant took the plunge and went BIG whilst passing the crowd. Now instead of tapping the wall he managed to drift a little further and connect with the RSJ part of the gate which instead of bouncing the car away, it sucked the front end in and resulted in the first of many crashes.

Well after recording Ant going into the wall HARD, it spurred George on to get Abdul repaired and for him to get started on removing the rear end parts with help from Buxton itself. Some people were loony enough to go out as a passenger with george. I was shocked there were no disclaimer forms as he went strong into the corners and he came out of them with even less bodywork lol.

So there you go, a fabulous day had by all. with smiles and laughs all day through. and the big thanks go out to:-
 Mrs Law -Alex Moore
JohnJ - DRIFTONE.CO.UK
Matt - Buxton owner
and everyone else that turned up to celebrate & help for the occasion.
