OWphotos Entrance:

Hello and welcome:

Hello and welcome to Oh Well Photos. (Or 'OW' for short). This is a new blog that holds my view of the drifting community and motorsport that I follow. This blog is made for the people that are major participants of the drifting lunacy already. It is also made for those that are interested and attracted by the smoke, speed, angle and indulgent colours of the drifting motorsport.

My name is John (also known as Random) and I am a keen enthusiast of automotive photography. I have an amateur knowledge of Digital Photography but a strong passion for the insane motorsport that is drifting. I have taken many pictures good and bad, albeit some dreadful ones too. I have received a lot of feedback from the crowds who help me as I am still improving my skills after each event.

I have placed my feet firmly on the tarmac for 2 years now. I feel that I am more than capable to represent myself and be a worthwhile part of the Drift community and culture. So I am to conclude this post with a very warm welcome, and I also thank you very much for reading and browsing through the OW blog. Here is to many more posts. Cheers.

Ky's FBDC '12 Supra

So here is Ky's mark IV Toyota Supra. He purchased this in the land of the great cheeseburger after completing the American trip for the FBDC '11 @ Road Atlanta on the Formula D course.

It was just a standard twin turbocharged Renaissance Red model and it got shipped over to the british isles on the perception of being a grip car.

8 weeks later and the car was given a gloss black spraycan respray as he had his sights set on the 9m skinny track of the Nurburgring and he also understood that body panels will be smashed in the first handful of trips as mistakes are made. so keeping repair costs down was a big bonus.

so after a good few months and plenty of lightweight parts to cut down his lap times the FBDC '13 was looming and as the drivers seat was still quite warm he decided to flip the script and use the money from last years round winning S13 sale on the Supra and up his game with some serious grunt and one hell of a wide rear end.

whilst on the run up to the new season Chris Dingle (one of the TKS boys) asked Ky to help him out as his altezza was missing an engine so he gave him his original 800bhp single turbo converted 2jz engine and rebuilt a spare 2jz upto a reasonable 780bhp but opting to keep the twin turbo set-up.

As the new season starts it seems that a few big name sponsors are happy with Ky's performance over the last 2 years hence both Konig and Falken helping him out with his handling levels.
Even though the Supra is a wide car to start with Ky has done a massive amount of fettling whilst using some fibreglass panels and also some rather exclusive carbon fibre pieces too reducing almost 100kg's from the original mass weight.

As we leave the TKS garage ive just read my e-mails and ive just been told that someone is happy with my 'driving emotion'. Hmmm only time will tell.

GOOD NEWS:

There seems to be some major news that i have to announce from the OWphotos camp.
  • I have purchased a very decent HP Pavilion G6 laptop, to help me with the mass amount of pictures when attending the Driftone weekender dates.
  • Speaking of Driftone, The organiser John Jones gave me quite a special role as the official photographer for Driftone.
  • Last but not least i also have good news regarding a future shoot at a great location which i am still in discussion with at this moment in time.
So keep your likes coming guys and here's to a mind blowing 2012.
