Hello and welcome:
Hello and welcome to Oh Well Photos. (Or 'OW' for short). This is a new blog that holds my view of the drifting community and motorsport that I follow. This blog is made for the people that are major participants of the drifting lunacy already. It is also made for those that are interested and attracted by the smoke, speed, angle and indulgent colours of the drifting motorsport.
My name is John (also known as Random) and I am a keen enthusiast of automotive photography. I have an amateur knowledge of Digital Photography but a strong passion for the insane motorsport that is drifting. I have taken many pictures good and bad, albeit some dreadful ones too. I have received a lot of feedback from the crowds who help me as I am still improving my skills after each event.
I have placed my feet firmly on the tarmac for 2 years now. I feel that I am more than capable to represent myself and be a worthwhile part of the Drift community and culture. So I am to conclude this post with a very warm welcome, and I also thank you very much for reading and browsing through the OW blog. Here is to many more posts. Cheers.

EPIC EP82
So 7 days after the first outing with Riky Darbys 'no soap' S14. My friend JC gets a message on facebook from Mr Darby saying "lets take some more photos next Sunday." JC still quite tired, mummbles, sighs and then just as he's about to let out a squeaky yawn. Riky says his mate chris is coming down in his 300bhp Toyota Starlet. "Hmmm ok then, i'll let Random know" replies JC. So with the usual morning prep, there is one major difference between these two shoots, and that is the day before this shoot mother nature laid down a 'quite respectable' inch or two of snow for the british people to embrace as the 2011 white Xmas was cancelled unfortunately.
We head on out to grab some McD's brekkie which we miss out on again by 5 minutes (DAMN). as we roll upto the Krispy Kreme's meeting point. We get a text from Riky saying that his selfless deed of plowing the neighbourhoods road and clearing the snow was complete and he was on his way whilst Chris was gonna meet Riky en-route. Moments later Riky rolls onto the car park and tells us that theres some more peeps turning up but they are gonna meet up inside the Trafford Centre's food court.
We all rev'd up our motors and headed to the same locations that we took Riky except, we added a tunnel run and quite literally a fairly long roadtrip around the outskirts of Manchester to get a warehouse background.
Now Chris has owned 2 EP82 Starlets over the last 4 years and he gives me a run down of how he has achieved this particular monster. After a handling lesson with his first Starlet that put him on his roof, he has taken bits from the topsy turvy starlet and whilst also purchasing some more parts and pieces from the likes of Whiteline, Cusco, TRD, Willwood and Hel. Chris uses the full facilities of his workshop 'C.J. Autos' to also custom make some parts too. Like the 3 point rear strutbrace and the rocker cover, which has a girthy pipe joined to the shiny catch can which that prevents any oil leaks and keeps this practical engine bay clean.
The journey continues and as the convoy causes some mayhem by not noticing one way streets around the city centre we grab some final shots in china town. (this time there is no chinese new year parade and we can get right underneath the chinese archway.
As the sun goes in we call it a day as JC and myself have plenty of pictures from many angles including Riky's doughnut practice and also Chris' circle motion shot which surprisingly both came out well.
The boys leave the tunnels with a quick beep and the last words from the duo are "we'll see ya on track random." Kepp your eyes peeled on both these cars as the drivers take on another phase and practice their driving skills during the 2012 summer months.
